DeviceType
This three digit field is the type/subtype that tells the system what type of Itron product the incoming endpoint reading message is coming from and what functionality is available for that device type. This attribute is part of the endpoint message and must match what is in the MDI Configuration file. If the correct endpoint type is not used, the reading and event data will not be stored in the database as expected and read performance statistics will not be counted in the daily totals.. This number is assigned by Itron. For more information, see DeviceType Valid Values.
The SetDevice element and DeviceType attribute are required for every XML file. The file will not validate they are not included.
